BibsPrivacy policy

Bibs is a football-organising app run by Euan Grant, based in Scotland ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Bibs app and website, why, and what you can do about it. If anything here is unclear, email support@bibs.football.
What we collect
Account details
- Your display name and username, so teammates can find you.
- Your email address or mobile number, whichever you sign up with, used to sign you in and to send verification codes.
- An optional phone number, visible only to the admins of games you're in, so an organiser can reach you.
- An optional profile picture, emoji and colour.
What you do in the app
- Games you join or run, your roster status, attendance, teams, scores and goals.
- Ratings and player-of-the-match votes you give and receive. Ratings are shown only as anonymous averages.
- Messages you send in game chats and private messages, including photos, videos, voice notes and GIFs you attach.
- Friend requests and your friends list.
- Your notification preferences and, if you allow notifications, a device push token so we can deliver them.
Purchases
Captain plan subscriptions are bought through Apple. We never see your card details. We receive a record of the subscription (which plan, when it renews or lapses) so we can switch features on and off.
What we don't collect
We don't run adverts, we don't use tracking or advertising identifiers, and we don't sell or share your data with data brokers. We don't collect your precise location.
Why we use it
- To run the service you asked for: organising games, showing you who's in, delivering messages and notifications.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- To take payment for the Captain plan and venue listings.
Under UK data-protection law, our lawful bases are performing our contract with you and our legitimate interest in running a safe, working service. Where you give optional information, such as a photo, that is with your consent and you can remove it at any time.
Who we share it with
Only the services that make Bibs work, each under its own contract and privacy terms:
- Supabase hosts our database and stored files, in Frankfurt, Germany (EU).
- Apple processes in-app purchases and delivers push notifications to iPhones; Expo relays those notifications.
- RevenueCat keeps the record of your subscription status.
- Twilio sends the text-message codes if you sign up with a phone number.
- Tenor (Google) provides GIF search, if you use it. Your search terms go to Tenor.
Other players see what you'd expect them to: your name, username, picture, stats, and the messages you send in shared chats. Game admins can also see your attendance and, if you gave one, your phone number.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. Delete your account and we delete your profile, messages and files within 30 days; anonymous statistics that don't identify you may remain. Payment records are kept as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@bibs.football from the address on your account and we'll respond within a month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Bibs is for adults and young people aged 16 and over. If you believe a younger child has an account, tell us and we'll remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
